Control your Dust

DELTA now uses and advertises our dust system as "The most efficient dust removal system in the "INDUSTRY". "Fine WoodWorking" used it in their DUST BOOK. This is the first and only complete system to remove the hobbyists fatal dust.

John Timby a Prototype Engineer, has solved customers engineering and other associated problems in numerous fields for over sixty five years. Nine years ago he suffered a severe wood dust rash, while working at his new wood turning hobby, he applied years of accumulated knowledge when devising a complete wood dust removal system, for himself, the hobbyist or small professional, the following three distinct sections emerged solving each problem.

The Depression Chamber Technique was chosen for the initial removal of dust. Basically air flows into a chamber from all sides equally, there are no eddy currents to float micron dust away into the shop. Chambers can be formed about most cutting areas, so we now have the following combinations. Air is sucked from the shop into a depression chamber where dust is being made, and from there it goes into the suction pipe creating the depression, your dust is now completely contained in the collector pipe. This very simple layout guarantees every particle of dust is contained.

Dust behaves in a predictable manor and to divide dangerous dust from ordinary dust is simplicity itself, feed the total dust into a cyclone and inertia will seperate 30 micron particulate out. The achieve the same result with a two bag collector, Envelope the top bag with an impervious outer bag, replace the inner top bag with a 30 micron fabric for increased efficiency, replace bottom bag with a trash bag, this when half full is ready for easy disposal.

Three systems can be made up from the above alternatives, first the Depression Chamber system, then add either the Cyclone or the Two Bag Collector systems, this is a typical Timby solution, simplicity itself, with no funnels, filters, or masks just dust collected ready for economical dispensation. All three systems passed John's rash tests, over the nine years.

A basic layout together with only the esential equipment is very important, John then tops the lot with numerous new tips gathered from other fields.

Manufactures and Magazines such as Delta and Fine WoodWorking used John's Depression Chamber system acknowledging it as the best dust removal system in the INDUSTRY together with hundreds of owners with copies of John's "Down Draft Sanding Table".

John when asked if he thought he should have some sort of recognition for designing the Depression Chamber System said, "It would be nice, but I get satisfaction from knowing woodworkers now using my system are working mask free in safe air".
